For the time being, we have temporarily suspended production at our plant. However, Brit-Tipp remains committed to providing a reliable service through our admin and sales teams, ready for when we get everything back up and running once again.
While we continue to assess the ongoing situation and plan ahead for our eventual return, we recognise that life goes on for many drivers and vehicle operators. From supermarket deliveries to waste and recycling collections, many of the nation’s drivers are carrying out some of the most essential services behind the scenes to keep day-to-day life as normal as possible.
It’s a difficult time for so many people and businesses, so it’s thanks to the sheer dedication and hard work of vehicle operators for continuing with such vital services. Every week, we dedicate our applause and gratitude to the many drivers still in operation, alongside other key workers in the healthcare sector.
Check rest stops online
To help make things a little easier, the Department for Transport has launched a new service on its website that allows drivers in England to plan their journeys with appropriate rest stops. At the start of the lockdown, many drivers found that certain service stations and rest facilities had suddenly closed, making it difficult to get something to eat or even use toilets.
The new online service now outlines stations that are open and the facilities available at each one. This will allow commercial drivers to plan ahead for any long-haul journeys they need to make, so they’re not in for any nasty surprises when the time comes to take a short break.
After all, we find ourselves even more dependent on key drivers than ever before. It’s important for commercial drivers to feel healthy, comfortable and well rested in order to carry out their essential services, so make sure to check the DfT’s regularly for any changes.
Everybody at Brit Tipp wishes you all well and we aim to update you as soon as we return to a more normal service. If you want to be the first to know, why not sign up to our newsletter by sending us your email at the bottom of the page.
